Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a system with medical professionals who respond to 911 calls and treat and transport people in emergency health situations.
The Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, is the state agency responsible for the development and coordination of a statewide EMS system. This includes:
- Education
- Regulatory and Compliance
- Agency Licensing
- Provider Certification
- EMS Preparedness
- EMS preparedness works in conjunction with the Bureau of Preparedness and Response to ensure the public health and medical needs can still be addressed during times of crisis.
