How to Apply

Ready to work with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania? Follow these steps to apply.

What's the difference between Civil Service and Non-Civil Service jobs?

  • Civil service positions require applicants to take a competitive exam (online or at a test center).
  • Non-civil service positions do not require an exam.

Both types of positions offer the same salary structures and benefits at the state level. However, local government jobs have different pay, benefits, and retirement packages.
